During Wild Rice Week, SDI is highlighting the importance of manōmaeh to the Menominee people and the need to protect its habitat. SDI Intern Gracie Waukechon created a detailed fact sheet on how oil spills impact wild rice - from halting photosynthesis to limiting harvest access and weakening long‑term cultural sustainability. Her work reinforces that environmental stewardship is inseparable from sovereignty and traditional ecological knowledge. We invite you to read and share this resource as we continue advocating for healthy lands and waters.

We are officially on Day 3 of our 3-Day Flint Corn Workshop Series!

On Monday, participants created handmade jewelry using corn seeds, and on Tuesday, they crafted traditional corn husk dolls.
