Today, we pause to celebrate the incredible parents and guardians of our Notre Dame Catholic School community! You are your child's first teacher, their biggest cheerleader, and their steady example of faith in action. From packing lunches to helping with homework, from volunteering on campus to praying over your children each night, your love and dedication do not go unnoticed.

Partnering with families like yours is one of the greatest blessings of our school. Together, we are raising children who are grounded in faith, kindness, and knowledge.

We are thrilled to announce that Mr. Alan Rochkus will be joining Notre Dame Catholic School as our new Principal this school year!

"I am very excited to join the ministry at Notre Dame Catholic School and Parish. I began my career in education in Catholic Schools and am blessed to have the opportunity to return to campus ministry serving as the principal. In my career I have served as a teacher, assistant principal, and elementary and middle school principal. My charism is one of servant leadership. Thank You, Notre Dame Community

There are no words big enough to hold our gratitude right now. When the floodwaters rushed through our campus this week — up to two and a half feet deep, touching nearly every building we have — it would have been easy to feel overwhelmed. Instead, we felt held.

You came with mops, gloves, trucks, and open hearts. You helped us clear mud from classrooms, salvage what could be saved, and start putting our school and church back together — just weeks before our students are set to walk back through these doors. Teachers who lost supplies they'd bought with their own money. Photos, books, and keepsakes scattered across our grounds. And yet, side by side with all of you, it never once felt like we were facing it alone.

This is the second time in a year our Kerr County family has had to rebuild — and the second time you have shown up without hesitation. That kind of love doesn't happen by accident. It's a reflection of who you are.

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." — Galatians 6:2

Thank you for carrying ours. We love our Notre Dame family, and we are endlessly grateful.

Important Update: Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFAs)

We want to keep our Notre Dame community informed of the latest news from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts:

Last week, more than 42,000 Tier 1 applicants and their siblings were awarded TEFAs.

This week, the Comptroller will conduct a lottery and begin sending award notifications to Tier 2 students.

With over 274,000 applications submitted, demand has far exceeded available funding this year. While not every applicant can be funded, the Comptroller is committed to transparency and keeping families informed throughout the process.
