LLFC Austin Families and Staff,

In recent years, we’ve partnered with Austin Voices for Education and Youth (AVEY) to create retreat experiences for the families they serve. AVEY does incredible work strengthening families and schools throughout Austin ISD.

On Saturday, October 24, AVEY is hosting their annual event called HopeFest, which supports families with things like rent, utility assistance, and healthcare testing while giving kids a great time with live music, a zoo, and more. This year’s event is all drive-thru. (See below for a summary of AVEY’s COVID protocols.)

The LLFC Directors are volunteering for the event, and AVEY asked us to help spread the word. They’re looking for 125 volunteers. Many of you know Kristen Patton from your days at LLYC or perhaps you met her at LLFC where she and her family make time to spend together
every year. We love Kristen and love hearing how she's doing after her heart transplant.

An unexpected medical event catapulted Kristen Patton intoa new life as a heart transplant survivor and a Transplant Games medalist.
