BOTANICAL DRAWING | FALL 2026

Learn the fundamentals of drawing and composition through the study of botanical forms.

Plants are remarkable subjects for learning how to draw. By looking closely at their forms and structures, students learn how to see relationships, organize what they see, and translate three-dimensional forms onto the page.

The course begins with fundamental drawing principles and gradually brings those skills into more developed botanical studies. Composition is part of the process too, helping students consider not only how to draw a subject, but how to thoughtfully place and organize it within the page.

Open to everyone. Beginners will be introduced to foundational drawing skills, while experienced artists can strengthen their work through a deeper study of natural forms.

PART I | SEPT 17 – OCT 15
PART II | OCT 22 – NOV 19
THURSDAYS | 1:00 – 4:00 PM

Part I may be taken on its own or continued into Part II for a deeper botanical study.

🌱 Registration is open for Fall 2026.

Egg tempera has a long history, but it continues to find new expression in the hands of artists today.

From the quiet intensity of Andrew Wyeth to the luminous landscapes of Woody Gwyn and the figurative, symbolic work of Michael Bergt, artists have continued to explore the possibilities of this centuries-old medium in remarkably different ways.

Curious to explore egg tempera yourself? We still have spots available for our upcoming Egg Tempera Painting Workshop with Holly White-Gehrt.

More information and registration are on our website.
