What a fun and festive week it’s been at Piney Grove! We celebrated Spirit Week with lots of school pride as students showed off festive outfits, fun hats, creative footwear, and cozy pajamas. ✨

We loved welcoming families into our classrooms for winter parties—thank you for helping make these moments so special for our students. ❤️

We also held our school spelling bee, and congratulations go to 4th grader Naomi Swartzlander, who won the trophy and will represent Piney Grove at the district spelling bee. Way to go, Naomi! 🐝

Students who showed the highest scores and growth in math and reading on i-Ready were rewarded with a spin of the prize wheel with Mr. Elkins—a great way to celebrate hard work and progress. 💯

As we wrap up this exciting week, we wish all our Panda families a wonderful, restful winter break filled with joy and time together. ❄️

A Peek at our Week! We were excited to see snow fall on campus, making school feel extra festive. ⛄
Our students and families enjoyed a wonderful winter concert and play, with our talented fourth graders shining in their performance of A Pirate Christmas 🏴‍☠️
🎨Our young artists designed snow globes.
🌦 Second graders became young meteorologists as they used a weather station and wind socks to make observations.
🧪 Fifth graders wowed us in science with an exciting elephant toothpaste experiment.

Congratulations to three panda staff members who were awarded grants from the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce! Thank you to local businesses as well as community members who support this cause every year. 🎉

Mrs. Howard will be building math minds through the use of stackers, Mrs. Ceglowski will be getting board games called Games for Growth for use in guidance and Mrs. Gant will be able to provide more engagement opportunities to challenge her early finishers through hands-on materials. 🐼

It’s been a busy couple of weeks at Piney Grove!
Thanksgiving week all students enjoyed a taekwondo break-a-thon and many students attended a PBIS movie rewards. This week was gingerbread week in kindergarten and fourth and fifth grades attended school day at the Wake Forest Women’s basketball game. Ms. Seabourn even got to participate in a half time on court free throw contest with a student! So much fun! We missed being together today but hope everyone has a great weekend! 🐼
