George T Myers
January 29, 1947 — April 16, 2026
Kenton
George T Myers, age 79 of Kenton, OH passed away April 16, 2026, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was born January 29, 1947, to the late Charles Myers and Helen (Baum) Gossard in Kenton. George celebrated fifty years of marriage to Shirley (Stinson) Myers who survives in Kenton.

George is also survived by daughter Rhonda Renee and her husband Robert Fadel and his sister Beatrice Deckling, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 7 siblings.

George proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. and retired as a Military Staff Sergeant. He was an avid golfer and followed the sport very passionately.

There will be a Memorial Service Friday April 24, 2026, at Grove Cemetery (15443 State Route 309 Kenton, OH 43326) starting at 3pm. A Celebration of Life dinner will follow at AMVETS Post #1994 (417 W Espy St. Kenton, OH 43326) Expressions of sympathy may be left online at www.affordablecremationservicesofohio.com.

Sad to announce that we've lost another classmate. Tom Myers has passed away. Haven't seen an obituary yet, but I will post it when it becomes available.

Our Student Leaders met at the new, beautiful Kenton High School. It was great to see this new space and all the amazing things happening at KHS. Special shout out to our food sponsors 101 Smokehouse LLC. not only is their food AMAZING, they donated it to our students! Kenton City Schools is seeking alumni’s knowledge of time capsules existing at Kenton High School and Kenton Middle School.

“After sealing the time capsule at Kenton Middle/High School, we’ve been alerted to the possibility of time capsules at the old schools,” said Chad Thrush, Superintendent of Kenton City Schools. “We’re relying on alumni knowledge to help us find those, should they exist. We want to make sure we don’t destroy any time capsule in the abatement and demolition of the old buildings.”

Currently, the district believes the time capsule at the old high school to be in the ground in front of the office area. At Kenton Middle School, it is believed that a time capsule could exist in one of the brick pillars along Oriental Street.

Alumni or community members with information should call the Kenton City Schools Central Office at 419-673-0775 or visit go.kcs.me/timecapsule.
