Dear students,

College of Marin is partnering with NASA in promoting the launch and science of the new
James Webb Space Telescope that will shape our knowledge of the Universe for the next 30+ years.

COM plans two events aimed to the public and we look for enthusiastic COM students to help.

The events are Saturday February 12th 2022 (9am-1pm) at the Bayside Martin Luther King Academy in Marin City and

February 26th at the COM Jonas Center in Novato (6-10pm).

We look for COM students willing to do some fun activities with kids and visitors of all ages.
NO Science background needed, just bring your excitement and curiosity for science!

• MAPS is having a nice study sesh TODAY (dec 10th) from 10am - 2pm @ AC 255. There will be snacks! Make sure to wear a mask and be vaccinated.
• Puente will also have the Puente room open at that time today!! It’s at Portable PV3 next to the AC building.
• In case you couldn’t read the MAPS post, here is an important detail: By attending this event, you are attesting that you are vaccinated per District Board Policy. All students must abide by the indoor mask requirement when on District property. If you are found in Violation of the policy, you will be subject to student Discipline and Due Process (AP 5520)

Puentistas - Free tickets available to the Mind the Gap Summit in Mill Valley for women interested in film or tech careers. On the first day of the festival, the Mind the Gap Summit will take place at the Mill Valley Outdoor Art Club. It will be a full day (10am-6pm) of short-form presentations, discussions, master classes and networking led by an extraordinary line-up of thought leaders and creatives in the film and tech industries. The director of Twighlight, Catherine Hardwicke will lead a deep dive into the creative process, the team behind the new release, Mudbound, will be interviewed and other women from movies such as Oscar-winner Spotlight, Wonder Woman and Moana will appear, alongside a number of tech leaders. They will discuss issues such as entrepreneurship, mentorship, inclusivity and how to sustain a productive career in these intersecting fields. This is a gender equity initiative of the Mill Valley Film Festival that was created to identify and explore the most compelling issues facing women professionals in the film industry, with a particular focus on the intersection in business/tech Interested?
