🏈 Holden Families — We Need Your Help! ❤️🖤

Have you ever wondered how the HSA is able to help pay for things like attendance prizes, Holden Scholar rewards, new bike racks, the Gaga Ball pit, teacher & staff support, and other fun opportunities for our Holden kids?

This is one of the ways we make it happen!

This Saturday, the Holden HSA has the opportunity to raise money by volunteering at a b**r tent during the Kent State vs. Ohio University football game. 🍺🏈

We need volunteers from 10:30 AM–2:00 PM, and we could really use a few more Holden parents to join us.

These events are a big fundraiser for our HSA, and the money we earn goes right back into supporting our students and school. When we don’t have enough volunteers, we risk losing opportunities like this—and that means less money available for the extras that make Holden special.

You don’t have to join the HSA, attend every meeting, or make a huge commitment. Just giving us a few hours on Saturday makes a difference.

❤️ If you’ve been looking for a way to help Holden, this is an easy one—and we’d love to have you!

And even if you can’t volunteer this time, please share this post with another Holden parent! ❤️🖤

Good evening Holden Families!

I wanted to take a quick moment to outline a few key topics we discussed at the 1st HSA meeting last week. Our goal is to keep you all informed whether you are able to attend a meeting or not. I also want to take this time to encourage feedback from all of you.

📌 Kent State University Football Games
We are looking for parent volunteers to help serve at some home games. Game days are Sept 12th, Sept 26th, and Oct 3rd. We will keep you posted on times. The game this weekend will be at noon. We will only be serving until half time. At that point volunteers are free to stay and enjoy the rest of the game. Please send a message if you would like to volunteer, or if you have any questions.

📌 Fundraising
We have multiple Dine to Donate fundraisers set up with Marcos Pizza. Your child will bring home a flyer before the Dine to Donate date as a reminder. Our first one will be tomorrow evening. Keep a look out for the Fall Read-a-thon. We will send home more information as that time approaches. We have many ideas floating around. However, we'd also love to hear from you all! What type of fundraisers would you want to see this year?

📌 Family Events
Keep an eye out for some Fall family events coming up. We plan to do the typical events we do every year, but hope to stager them and provide information well ahead of schedule. If there is something you'd like to see this year, message us!

📌 Christmas / Holiday Shop
I know! You are all reading Christmas and wondering why NOW!?! Well, before you know it the Holidays will be here. We really need your feedback on this topic. We have decided to forgo a traditional Holiday Shop and have each class have access to crafts they will hand make. We realize this will make the "who I'm gifting" a little more challenging. This is one area we'd love your feedback.

🎁 How many people do you typically send your child in money to shop for?
🎁 Of the items purchased in the past what are your favorites?
🎁 How much time would you be able to spend with your child finishing a craft for another family member?

The plan is to have students do crafts during the time they would typically spend in the Holiday Shop. Students will be able to create multiple crafts, but if time doesn't allow - we would have kits we could send with them to do at home. The plan is to have each grade complete a different craft - this way families with kids in multiple classes would not receive the same craft. More information will be provided as we get closer to the Christmas / Holiday Shop time of year.

If anyone has any craft supplies they would like to donate, please reach out so we can make arrangements to pick up. Our main goal is to provide children the ability to gift their loved ones without having to spend any money. You can also reach out to HSA Secretary Joshua or HSA Treasurer Kathryn regarding craft supply donations.

📌Last, but certainly not least, I want to encourage you all to share the HSA page to all parents. This page, along with parent square, will be great resources to keep up to date on all things Holden!

✨Our next HSA meeting will be held on Wednesday October 7th at 5:30pm in the Holden library. ✨

✨We hope to see you there!!✨
