Congratulations to two of our graduate students on earning the Kent State Center for Teaching and Learning Bronze Teaching Recognition Award!
Runxiang Jin was recognized for his project Improving Student Engagement in Robotics Education Using Active Learning Strategies, and Elaheh Sabziyan Varnousfaderani earned the award across five categories: Classroom Management, Student Engagement, Inclusive Teaching, Student Support, and Teaching Style.
The Bronze Award recognizes instructors who learn evidence-based teaching practices and develop a plan to put them into action. These two are doing exactly that. We're so proud to have them representing our college! 🎉

The squirrels have taken over Kent State's campus this summer, and now you can make one officially yours. 🐿️
For a gift of $20.26, you'll receive a digital certificate naming your very own Kent State squirrel. Choose a College of Aeronautics and Engineering fund when you give, and your support goes directly to students, faculty, and initiatives right here in CAE.
Scurry up before they're all claimed! 👉 https://buff.ly/3huCqZV

On June 3, five students from Rwanda made history at the Kent State University Airport by completing their very first flights as part of a partnership between Kent State and RwandAir, one of Africa's fastest-growing airlines.
Cedric Hindura, Francis Shyaka, Henry Kenny Hagenimana, Milka Isingizwe, and Patricie Mugabo were selected from 2,600 applicants to train as professional pilots at Kent State and eventually return home to fly for Rwanda's national carrier.
"I've always wanted to do this," said Patricie Mugabo. "I'm excited about becoming a great pilot — a great woman pilot."
Kent State is proud to be part of their journey. With the largest academic fleet in Ohio and a reputation as the state's premier flight school, we're ready to help them soar. ✈️

Nobody taught you how to teach AI.
Nobody showed you how cybersecurity connects to a 4th grade classroom.
Nobody explained how drones fit into a geography lesson.
That is not on you.
But your students are heading into a world where these things are everywhere -- and they need a teacher who is willing to open that door for them.
Kent State's Teacher Bootcamps are designed exactly for teachers who have never had access to these fields. Any grade. Any subject. Completely free. And you will leave with a lesson plan built specifically for your classroom.
You do not have to be an expert. You just have to be willing.
