Kent State University’s School of Art is one of Ohio’s top schools in the visual arts, offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in Art Education, Art History, and Studio Art. Our program offers a wide array of studio disciplines, expert faculty, and a place for fine arts and liberal arts to come together in creative and inspiring ways. All studios and classrooms are located under one roof in the new Center for the Visual Arts which had its grand opening in 2016. The School of Art is one of the largest and most comprehensive university art departments in the state and offers the only Master of Fine Arts degree program in Northeast Ohio. Studio Art concentrations include Ceramics, Drawing, Glass, Jewelry/Metals/Enameling, Painting, Print Media and Photography, Sculpture and Expanded Media, and Textiles. The School of Art offers a variety of special programming including travel study (New York City, Washington D.C., London/Paris, Florence, China), a renowned visiting artist and scholar program and a fifty-year legacy of the Kent Blossom Art summer intensive studio workshops.
