🎶 Congratulations to KCS student Seamus Dietrich! 🎷

Last weekend, over 400 middle school musicians from 40 schools gathered at Central Connecticut State University for the Northern Region Middle School Music Festival, hosted by the Connecticut Music Educators Association.

Seamus auditioned this past fall and was selected as one of only four tenor saxophone players. This also marks Seamus’s second year participating in the festival! He joined three other Region 1 students performing in the Concert Band. After just 9 hours of rehearsal together, the group delivered an incredible performance.

A special thank you to David Poirier for working with Seamus over the past several months to help prepare him for this amazing opportunity. We are so proud! 👏🎶

Grandparents Day-
In 2024, we hosted over 150 grandparents and special friends that day. It takes a village of parent volunteers to help with the organized chaos of the morning. The PTO arrives by 7:15am to get the coffee on, set up the registration table - custom name tags and all - and set up a breakfast buffet with goodies provided by parents. PTO will need volunteers on site all morning to help get everyone where they need to be, answer any questions, and act as general ambassadors of the KCS community. We are very grateful to everyone who helps out!!

Grandparent’s Day will be held on Thursday October 23! PTO will need volunteers for baked goods, beverages.
