Our student Ada has had an incredible summer interning at Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida. This is what she has to say about her experience: I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to spend the past three months interning at Ocean Reef Club, the second ranked private club in the country.
Through ORC University, I attended classes focused on leadership, hospitality, communication, and career growth. Beyond the classroom, I was able to take part in experiences like cooking classes and snorkeling trips, all organized and funded by the club.

One thing that surprised me the most was how invested the members were in my experience. So many of them took the time to get to know me, ask about my career goals, share advice, and encourage me throughout my internship.

Looking back, I am leaving Ocean Reef with so much more than hospitality experience. I am leaving with greater confidence, lasting relationships, and a deeper appreciation for what true hospitality looks like.

Our student Holly S had the opportunity to intern at the Milwaukee Country Club this summer. Here’s what she had to say about her experience:
I’ve been focusing on making memorable experiences through food and beverage and event operations. It’s been an educational summer of adapting to new situations and exploring all departments in the club industry. Moving so far from home was a leap but I’m grateful that I did it!

We’re so happy for Olivia Casalinova who is the food and beverage rotational intern at The Country Club. Here’s what she has to say about her experience: I have learned so much from working in every department of the club but mainly focusing on food and beverage. My favorite things have been working with the other interns, experiencing a beautiful wedding planned by A Charming Fête, Lisa Costin + Somer Khouri and working the club pizza night. Thank you for the experience!

We’re so proud of our student for planning this incredible event! This is what she had to say about the experience:

I’m in Delta Zeta and currently serve as VP of Philanthropy. In this role, I get to host our annual fundraising event called LipSync. It’s where fraternities and sororities create and perform choreographed dances and lip-sync routines. This year, we raised over $41,000! All the money goes to our partner’s for Speech And Hearing.

A lot of hospitality and event management knowledge went into making this event successful. For example, making sure we secured and coordinated the ballroom rental, planned an appropriate layout with enough seating for attendees, organized the event timeline, and communicated with multiple groups to keep everything running smoothly. I also worked on coordinating logistics, managing check-in, and ensuring the overall guest experience was positive from start to finish.

It was such a rewarding experience, and I found myself using so many concepts from the Intro class in real time. It really reinforced how much I enjoy hospitality and event planning.

That’s what it’s all about, Samie! So proud of you!💕
