Kent, Ohio, is officially one of the best places in America to go to college — and the best in Ohio. MoneyLion, the personal finance and digital banking platform, released its list of the 20 Best College Towns in America in 2026 — and Kent made the cut, ranking No. 8 nationally.

The rankings evaluated cities across a range of livability factors, including the percentage of residents aged 20 to 24, average monthly rent and expenses, median household income, and annual cost of living. Of the more than 400 cities studied, only 20 made the final list.

Kent State University College of Public Health has earned a national ranking for the university in the newly released U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Graduate Schools report, highlighting the continued strength and upward momentum of its graduate public health programs.

In the new rankings for 2026, Kent State University climbed an impressive 15 spots to No. 122 on the Best Public Health Schools list, making Kent State the highest-ranked public institution in northern Ohio.

The Elisabeth Severance Prentiss Foundation recently made a $1.75 million gift to support students and programs at Kent State University College of Public Health. This gift will provide funding for the college’s community health and outreach programs, such as the Mobile Flashes program that launched in 2024 to deliver health services, screenings and education to underserved and rural communities in Northeast Ohio in collaboration with various community partners. https://bit.ly/3PBVfzD

Proud Kent State University College of Public Health alumnus, Jonathon Fauvie works at Medical Mutual, where he develops programs with nonprofit partners that address social drivers of health. His work focuses on expanding healthcare beyond traditional settings and into the communities it serves.

Jonathan credits his Kent State University education, as well as the mentors who supported him, for helping him along his path. Today, he continues to use his voice to highlight the impact of public health and the importance of connection in building healthier communities.
