Hillel at Kent State University Hillel inspires and enables students to explore, embrace, and celebrate Jewish life and identity Hillel is truly the place to be.

The Cohn Jewish Student Center, home of Hillel at Kent State, really is a “home-away-from-home” for the 1,500 Jewish students at Kent State and The University of Akron. Hillel is the foundation for Jewish life on campus offering social, cultural, spiritual and religious opportunities for everyone. Hillel's home, the Cohn Jewish Student Center, is a great place to relax and catch up with friends. Students come to the Cohn Jewish Student Center between classes or in the evenings to study and hang out with classmates, play pool, check their email, watch TV and enjoy free snacks.

We are excited to introduce a new monthly feature at Hillel, Mensch of the Month! We will be honoring one student each month to recognize those who go above and beyond to support Jewish Life at Hillel and around Kent! To kick off this new tradition, we are honoring Blake Jordan-Borns as our very first Mensch of the Month.

Blake is Hillel’s engagement chair, in addition to his role as the president of Kent’s AEPi chapter. We have already seen amazing progress this year with engagement, and are enjoying watching our community grow before our eyes. None of this would be possible without Blake’s leadership. We are incredibly proud of the work he has done for Hillel, and in building strong Jewish life across campus.
