Backโ€‘toโ€‘School Bonus!
Families can enjoy FREE access to the Pacific Science Center โ€” all you need is your King County Library card! Perfect timing tooโ€ฆ itโ€™s happening just one day before school starts.

A fun, handsโ€‘on way to wrap up summer and spark some curiosity for the year ahead.

Mark your calendars now! A King County Library Cards (KCLC) will get you (and your family!) FREE admission into the Pacific Science Center, on Tuesday, August 25th! This is a very significant savings, especially if you are visiting with a family.

You will just need to bring your library card (or you can show it in the app), to show at the entrance, to get free admission. Each card covers two adults and their dependents under 18. Note that it needs to be a KCLC (not a Seattle library card). If you do not already have a KCLC you can sign up now, or there are supposed to be staff onsite to help you sign up (at the Pacific Science Centter on 8/25).

If you cannot make it on that day, or do not qualify for a KCLC card, we do have a big round up of more discounts available for the Pacific Science Center here.

It's getting pretty smoky in our area, so please keep an eye on local air quality conditions and take steps to keep your little Falcons safe during these smoky days.

Please see the official update below for information and recommendations. Stay safe and take care!

In the wake of devastating wildfires in Spokane, weโ€™re seeing statewide impacts to air quality. As winds shift through this evening, we expect to see smoke blanket the state from Vancouver to Spokane, including major metropolitan areas like Seattle, Tacoma, and Everett. If conditions become smoky near you, stay inside, shut windows and doors, and run an air purifier. If you must go outside, wear an N95 mask and stay hydrated.

Visit wa211.org to find clean air and extreme heat shelters near you. Check the WA Smoke Blog for smoke and air quality updates: wasmoke.blogspot.com.
