According to the International Bowling Museum Hall of Fame British anthropologist, Sir Flinders Petrie, discovered a collection of artifacts in a child's grave in 1930s Egypt that appeared to be an early form of bowling! If this is accurate, evidence would have this game dating to at least 3200BC. Still good today! What do they say...if it ain't broke..

This past Wednesday, we had guest speaker Brian Scanlan come in for a special talk about the origins of A*O (when they first formed in the 90's as the Kent Student Anthropological Society)! He told riveting tales about some of the history of Lowry Hall, and of other department characters who have come and gone over the years (Drs. Olaf Prufer, Mark Seeman, Owen Lovejoy, and Richard Meindl, the last two who still remain strong members within our community). It was a lovely evening!
