God did it! 🙌🏾😭🎉

I’m officially a Child Development Associate (CDA)!

This journey was so much more than just signing up for a test. It included 120 hours of professional education, an extensive portfolio that took weeks to complete, family questionnaires, a comprehensive exam, and a three-hour observation where a PD Specialist evaluated everything from my interactions with the children to my learning environment, health and safety practices, routines, and professionalism.

There were definitely moments when I questioned myself, felt mentally exhausted, and just wanted to be finished. But God gave me the strength to keep going and finish what I started.

Yesterday, my PD Specialist completed the observation, and this morning I opened my email to see:

“Congratulations on earning your CDA Credential!”

I had to pause and thank God because this truly means so much to me. 🙏🏾

A HUGE thank you to the families in my program for completing the questionnaires and supporting me throughout this process. Your feedback meant a lot.

I’m also so thankful for my amazing team, Savannah and Anaja Mone
They held everything down during my observation and kept things running smoothly. Seeing them confidently apply everything we’ve worked on over the past year made me so proud.

And the sincere prayers from my husband, family, and friends! They carried me through! 🙌🏾

Emotion Eggs! I think I enjoy this game even more than the kiddos do, so it was only fitting to include it in one of my learning experience competency statements.

Our little guy, Dominic, loves this game! They all do, because it gives them a chance to talk about healthy ways to express their feelings.

Dominic is the sweetest, kindest, and most ADVENTUROUS little guy you’ll ever meet! 👀😆 His curiosity keeps us on our toes.

The positive outcomes? Building emotional awareness, confidence, empathy, and communication skills. 💙💜

One activity I chose is Emotion Eggs. I believe it's so important for children to understand their feelings. This activity helps them recognize different emotions, think about why they feel that way, and learn how to handle big feelings in a healthy way. It also encourages problem-solving, making choices, and building self-confidence. When children understand emotions, it helps them in all areas of learning.
