100 years ago, on July 2, 1923, poet, essayist, translator and recipient of the 1996 Nobel Prize in Literature, Wisława Szymborska, was born.

Her poems has been translated into English and many European languages, as well as into Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese, Persian and Chinese. On the 100th anniversary of birth, we commemorate the works of Wisława Szymborska.

Mozart of Poetry

Today we celebrate 100 years since the birth of the "Mozart of poetry": Wisława Szymborska.

The Polish poet wrote around 400 poems during her lifetime, using common everyday images to reflect on larger truths about love, death and passing time.
