On Monday, Dr. Swope had the privilege of conducting the Ohio Choral Directors Association High School Honor Choir. Congratulations to the talented musicians from across the state who participated in this day of beautiful music making. Special shoutout to our own Patricia Terceros and Andrew Rothhaar who served as section leaders for the event!

Attention NE Ohio High School Directors: Save the date for the 2026 Kent State Honor Choir Festival, an immersive day of high-level, collaborative music-making with faculty and students on the campus of Kent State University!

We had a great time on Friday hearing from our Spring semester student teachers in Music Education Studio Class. They shared excellent advice from their time in the field. We wish you all nothing but the best as you begin your careers!

During spring break, Dr. Matthew Swope and PhD student Patricia Terceros joined for three performances of Carmina Burana. Dr. Swope worked with the choir and soloists, and Patricia assisted with workshops and sang in the choir. KSU Director of Orchestras, Dr. Isaac Terceros, is the founder and artistic director of the Santa Cruz Philharmonic. The week also included outreach and recruitment at schools in Bolivia.

Audition for the Glauser School of Music! All prospective students interested in the Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Arts programs must audition in their major performance medium. Those interested in pursuing a general music minor or jazz studies concentration must also audition.
