Five Rwandan students stepped into the cockpit for the very first time at Kent State, a moment filled with sunlight, pride, and the quiet power of dreams taking flight. 🇷🇼✈️

From Kigali to Ohio, they carried their families’ hopes, their nation’s future, and their own determination straight into the clouds.
Their first flights weren’t just lessons. They were beginnings, proof that when passion meets purpose, the horizon expands.

Music in the Museum returned this year as one of Kent State’s standout traditions, a night where stunning campus talent meets the heart of the University’s art scene. On May 6, Opus 216 brought an intimate decompression‑chamber performance to the Higbee Gallery, offering students a rare moment to slow down and reset. Inspired by the Museum’s Sparkle exhibition and its iconic dress from Truman Capote’s 1966 Black & White Ball, the event blended elegance, history, and high‑tier musicianship. A Kent State highlight and a glimpse of the creative energy waiting for every student here.

Pakistan took the mic at this semester’s first Culture Café, and Rajesh Kumar and Abdul Moquit didn’t just present, they transported us. Their stories, visuals, and energy turned the room into a living mosaic of heritage, humor, and heart. Huge thanks to both for sharing their voices, and to everyone who came through to listen, learn, and connect.
