One thing I left out of the introduction: I’m usually the person who wants to know what we’re actually doing here.

I love ideas. I can dream with you all day. I also want to know what the idea looks like once it meets real life. Who is doing what? When is it happening? What do we need? What is making this harder than it needs to be?

That question has followed me through almost every room I’ve worked in, and I think it explains a lot about why my work now sits where faith, assignment and ex*****on meet.

I believe God gives us things to steward. I also believe stewardship eventually gets practical. It
reaches the calendar. The budget. The conversation you need to have. The thing you need to finish and the responsibility you need to stop volunteering for.

So if you like conversations that can move from Scripture to an implementation, you’ll probably be comfortable here.

One of my favorite things about Dream It has very little to do with what I’m teaching.

It’s what happens at the tables.

Someone shares an idea they’ve been thinking about, and somebody else says, “Wait… tell me more about that.”

Another person finally says out loud what they’ve been praying about.

Someone else gets stuck and the person sitting next to them helps them talk it through.

People pray for each other. They exchange ideas. They ask questions. They encourage each other. And maybe a conversation with someone you didn’t even know before that weekend helps you see something differently.

There’s something powerful about saying what you intend to do out loud, especially when you say it to another person.

It’s not just living in your head anymore.

Now somebody else heard you say it and might even hold you to it!!!

I’ve watched those little peer conversations turn into connections, collaborations, friendships and people genuinely rooting for each other long after Dream It is over.

That part of Dream It I can’t put on a flyer.

Yes, I’m facilitating the room.

But there’s so much that happens between the people in it with me.

Here’s the thing…

I don’t think we stop dreaming. I think we stop giving our dreams our attention.

Life gets full. We get busy. And the ideas, prayers and things we want to explore keep getting pushed to “when I have time.”

And we all know how that goes. 🤷🏽‍♀️

That’s why I’m so intentional about creating the room for Dream It.

Sometimes all it takes is putting everything aside for just long enough to see what’s been actually trying to get your attention.

There is another side of growth that we don’t talk about enough: sometimes the people around you are still interacting with an older version of you.

They remember what you used to always say yes to.

They remember what mattered to you then.

They remember the role you played in the family, the friendship, the church, the business or the group.

Meanwhile, you’ve had experiences they weren’t apart of, and those experiences changed you.

That can make growth feel awkward, especially when nobody did anything wrong. You just don’t respond to everything the same way anymore.

I’ve learned to give myself room for that without turning every change into a big announcement or the need for an explanation.

You can simply live differently and let the evidence of it catch up.

On October 24th + 25th, we’re getting back in the room for the 2026 Dream It Experience™ in Federal Way, WA.

This will be our 9th Dream It workshop, which is a little crazy for me to even type.

What started as the Vision Board Experience more than eight years ago has grown into two full days where we make room to really think about what we want our lives to look like next.

We’re going to dream. Think. Pray. Plan. Create.

We’re making Vision Boards AND Prayer Boards.

There will be magazines everywhere. There will be food. There will be laughter. There will absolutely be a “Girl, come look at this!” from across the room.

And yes, we’re going to do some WORK before I let anybody loose with the glue sticks.

You do not need to have 2027 figured out before you come. Bring the ideas you’ve been thinking about. Bring the things you’ve been praying about. Bring the goal you keep saying you’re going to get serious about. Bring the thing that sounds a little ridiculous when you say it out loud.

And if all you know right now is, “I need to sit down and figure out what I want next year to look like,” bring that too.

Your job title is useful information but it’s NOT the whole story.

Some of our most valuable skills were developed because God handed you a situation and said “Figure it out.”

That counts as experience, so does your judgement, relationships, and resourcefulness.

That is why I’m so interested in your Life Resume because the best evidence is discovered in the browsing history of your own life experiences.

Give me one Life Resume line in the comments. Start with: “I learned how to…”

We should start keeping better receipts of our own growth.

We remember the obvious things because they come with dates, announcements, certificates, pictures and celebrations. But I’m not interested in the obvious. I’m interested in the things no one would ever give us an award for.

• Like the conversation you can have now, that you wouldn’t have been able to five years ago.

• Or the skill you picked up because no one else was going to teach you.

• And the opinion you changed because you learned something new.

Those things tells us way more about who are we now, than any accomplishment could.

Yesterday was special.

The Making Boss Moves Summit was breathtaking and beautifully curated, but the women in the room made it what it was. Authentic. Bold. Brilliant. And making boss moves across every industry.

There was something powerful about seeing a room full of Black women celebrating each other, learning from each other, making connections and taking up space together.

Grateful I got to be in the room and lead the Bet on Yourself Lab. 🙏🏽
