Knock, Knock.
Who's there?
Look closely, it may be YOU!!!

(After tossing some old VCR tapes into a box and mailing it to LegacyBox, I got quite a surprise and had to share it with all of you.)

Can it really be 56 YEARS ago since we graduated? For those who may need a little nudge to the brain, here is a very "old school" handheld video of our 20th reunion in 1989. It feels more like you're watching Mystery Science Theater 3000 with all the dark heads in the foreground!

My dear husband, the unprofessional, oops, non-professional videographer did his best to capture the infamous PLAYHOUSE 69 production by Einstein's brilliant film makers. (Yes, the zoom feature was a novelty, so get over it.) They claim no one was injured during the making of this production. (Or if they were, I'm sure they didn't feel a thing!)

The entire video runs about 29 minutes starting at our 20th reunion and it concludes with Playhouse 69!

I recognized Sue Shear, Jo Ann Latimer, Robin Jones, Carol Fellers, Patricia Ullman, Miss Sue Sheffer, Jessica Morris, Sandi Muellen at the start. You will see Pete Hendler, Karl England, Jay Christopher, Ardie Sisson, Miss Gary Truex, Bobby Richards, Donny Kaiser, Marty Riskam, Dwight Pelz, Bruce Allen. Louis Chiporus and more when we all lined up for a class photo.

Playhouse 69 skits include Claymation, smoking in the boy's room, cafeteria food fight, sliding UP the stairway, snowy hill fun, mad surgery and other antics. It starts at 10:57.

Please comment with names of classmates you see and memories you have of this wonderful evening 36 years ago!!

PLEASE SHARE THIS LINK WITH ANYONE YOU THINK WOULD ENJOY IT!

Dear Prudence,

With A Little Help From My Friends, We Can Work It Out. Yesterday was really Something. But now it it is time to finally buy your Ticket To Ride to the joint classes of 1969 & 1970 AEHS REUNION!

REUNION UPDATE from Fred Shelley...

Here is updated information about the reunion. We especially welcome members of the Class of 1969!

The 50th reunion of the Class of 1970, which was postponed from last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, will take place as rescheduled in July! All Titans from all classes and their significant others and guests are welcome. The main event will take place on Saturday, July 17, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel at 5701 Marinelli Road in Rockville.

As you know, the Center for Disease Control indicated recently that people who have been vaccinated for COVID may no longer need to wear masks or social distance at indoor events. My understanding is that Montgomery County plans to lift its mask mandate on May 28. However, we do not know whether these mask and social distancing requirements will be in place at the time of the reunion. We will follow whatever regulations with respect to masking and social distancing as issued by the State of Maryland, Montgomery County, and the Marriott are in place at the time of the event.

The cost of the reunion is $75/person including dinner and non-alcoholic beverages, along with a cash bar. It is important that we get an accurate head count in working with the hotel, so if you plan to attend, please register. To do so, send a check for $75/person made out to Karen Parker to her at 3600 Gleneagles Drive, Unit 7-2A, Silver Spring, MD 20853. Also, please indicate to Karen and/or Janice Cooney that you plan to attend. Karen can be reached at [email protected] or 301-281-1929 and Janice can be reached at [email protected] or 240-409-8358. Please contact them or me if you have any questions or concerns.

I look forward to seeing you in July!

Another great moment in 1969!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, INTERNET!

07/03/2019

Just to clarify, the decision to find another date for our 50th reunion was solely based on lack of registrations (less than 20.) With more time to plan and with the opportunity to enhance this event, the committee felt this joint venture with the Class of 70 was a great solution to reach more classmates, see more friends and plan ahead. We are very excited and hope you will spread the word to anyone you can think of who may not do social media. We used mailing lists from former reunions and will again utilize them. Hope to see you in JULY! Stay tuned! - The Class of 69 Reunion Committee

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON CLASS OF 69’s 50th REUNION!

Ch Ch Ch Changes are a comin’!

Our class surely knows about changes, and we are announcing that our REUNION DATE HAS CHANGED to JULY 18,2020.

We will join the Class of 70 to make it a bigger and better reunion experience with friends whom we shared so many high school experiences....band, sports, chorus, clubs, academic events, classes, special events and other activities. Why limit this opportunity to reunite with just our one class. Double the fun with more memories to share! And speaking of doubles…take note…

2020...the year of doubles!
Class of 69 turns 69 in 2020!
Two graduating classes!
Two+ events!
Two times the fun!

AEHS Class of 70 has graciously invited the Class of 69 to combine our events. And rest assured, they have gotten all the plans underway, including a gathering the night before and another the day after the main event. Over 100 people are already indicating their interest so mark your calendars for the new date.

Saturday, July 18, 2020

Bethesda North Marriott, which is located just west of Rockville Pike near the White Flint Metro station.

We plan to charge no more than $75/person if possible, including food and non-alcoholic beverages, and with a cash bar available.
