Let’s shine a spotlight on Dafne Cruz Rodriguez, a dedicated student currently studying Public Health and Political Science. 🌍📚

Dafne shares, “I want to thank all the donors for their immense support to first-generation and low-income students like myself. Oftentimes, it is difficult to navigate higher education but I continue to remind myself that I pursue my goals and aspirations because of the change I want to instill for my community. I truly appreciate the continued support as financial concerns are one less thing I have to worry about this upcoming semester.” 📢

Join us in recognizing Luis Fonseca, an inspiring student pursuing his degree in Aerospace Engineering. 🚀💫

Luis shares, “To the people who believe in me. I want to thank you for the opportunity to receive your support. This award will help me continue higher education at Cal as I aim to get my Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering. Your support does not go unnoticed and it is not just a financial value to me, it is a collective of individuals who see the potential in me and the reassurance needed to let me know that I am the walking ‘call to action’ of my ancestors for diversity, success, and representation. With every action and word I take, I move with integrity, honesty, and kindness. In a world full of policies that refrain my people from achieving their highest dreams, your kindness has helped aid my anxiety of falling short of my dreams. I am beyond blessed to receive this scholarship award, though saddened my family will not be here to experience me receiving it, I am grateful to have a community at Cal that supports me.”

We are thrilled to introduce Evelyn Dominquez, who is studying Environmental Economics & Policy and Hispanic Language, Linguistics & Bilingualism. 🌿📚

Evelyn shares, “Being part of a community that values my lived experiences and supports my education is an incredible honor. This recognition affirms my past work and inspires my future efforts to dismantle educational barriers through community knowledge. It’s empowered me to think critically and strategically about creating meaningful change and embrace my role as an agent of change– both in my life and within the Latinx community. In a world where many in our communities are facing unknowns, planting seeds of hope & resilience is a powerful step toward rewriting that narrative.
