Children at TEECC have been eagerly waiting for the sprouts in our indoor hydroponic Tower Garden to grow! Now that we have significant lettuce, kale, and spinach plants, it's up to them to maintain the hydroponic system's care. This includes learning to remove aphids, harvest plants, add water, and adjust the pH with adult help.

Today, right after our Ta’am shel Shabbat gathering, we officially opened the TEECC Garden Season! Families joined our young gardeners as they planted cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, basil, peppers, melons, and flowers bursting with color!
As the season unfolds, children at TEECC will continue to care for, harvest, and taste the fruits of their work - a joyful expression of our commitment to tikkun olam and stewardship of the earth.

In our Reggio‑inspired environment at TEECC, relationships are at the heart of learning- including our relationship with the natural world! This year, Gregory, the Golden Mystery Snail has helped us embody the Jewish value of 'Shomrei Adamah;' helping our children understand what it means to care for another living being with patience, empathy, and wonder. From designing a snail‑sized sukkah to observing the arrival of more than 200 baby snails, Gregory has sparked meaningful connections and joyful discoveries. TEECC children celebrated Passover through play and hands-on experiences! Every class had an opportunity to make their own matzo to understand why we don't eat leavened bread on Passover. Everyone's favorite part was watching it bake in real time in the conveyor oven and pop out, crisp and ready! Classes used all kinds of materials for sensory storytelling, and what Passover is complete without a few helpings of homemade matzo pizza?
