How do we balance the rapid expansion of modern economic developments with crucial land-use and food security needs?
Drawing from deep family roots in the region—from his grandfather's manufacturing legacy at Nash Motors to his mother's survival of the Dust Bowl—Charles Heide believes the answer starts with investing in future generations.
Through the Brookwood Foundation's support of UW-Parkside, Heide is championing "investigative readiness" in students, urging them to master financial literacy, explore meaningful careers in the manufacturing sector, and actively rekindle a spirit of community service.
By empowering students and faculty to ask questions and solve real-world problems, the Brookwood Foundation is helping to cultivate the resilient, forward-thinking leaders our world needs next.

Last night, UW-Parkside awarded $1000 scholarships to three students from Racine-area high schools. Congratulations to Camila from Case High School, Addison from Horlick High School, and Diana from Washington Park High School. Go Rangers!

Just because the spring semester just wrapped doesn’t mean our Parkside students aren’t hard at work.
Congratulations to Matt Klug, Alex Palomo, Kevin Relich, Jack Miller, and Cort (CJ) Shane on their success at AbbVie. From completing an internal program to continuing research roles and securing full-time opportunities, these students are building incredible career momentum.
We’re proud to see Rangers thriving in data science and industry partnerships.
