Last August, Diane Giles, Freelance Features Writer at Kenosha News, donated a box of over 100 glass plate negatives to the Archives. The box was found in an old resort building in Twin Lakes before it was demolished in 2001. The photos show a variety of families who stayed in the area from the mid to late 1800’s.

For more information see Diane's article in the Kenosha News about discovering and saving the plates at https://www.kenoshanews.com/news/local/old-kenosha-hunting-for-clues-to-old-plate-glass-negatives-found-in-twin-lakes/article_53d466d6-2635-11ed-a8d4-631feda18816.html

So proud of our Archives graduates!!! Tommy Grobben and Sarah Seyfirth (and her doggo Rhonda)!

Tommy is finishing up a digital exhibit of photos and letters home from a Somers resident who served in Panama during World War II. He’s graduating with a double major in history and international studies and a minor in world politics. He’s hoping to find a job or internship this summer.
Sarah graduated with a history major and has a special interest in the Holocaust. Her recent work in the archives was to transcribe Carol Vopat’s Holocaust Survivor Series and write Storymaps of the speakers which will be shared on our Digital Collections page this summer. This summer, she plans to prep for the GRE and look into grad school options.

Thanks for all of your great work and making us ! We will miss you both in the Archives!!!
Wishing you and all of our 2020 grads the best!
