Built On Christ. Built for Generations.

Donors, supporters, students, and friends of Shoreland gathered to celebrate the ribbon cutting and dedication of our new entrance atrium, music room, and eight classrooms.

Following a reception, guests toured the new facilities during class sessions, seeing firsthand how these spaces are already benefiting our students. After President Scriver thanked our donors for their generous support and faithful prayers, Student Council President Katie Nolte and Vice President Micah Laitinen officially cut the ribbon. Guests then joined the student body for a special dedication service.

Pastor Bartelt reminded us that this addition represents far more than classrooms, hallways, and gathering spaces. It reflects the faithfulness of generations of Christians who have given their time, talents, resources, and prayers so that young people can grow in knowledge and faith.

“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord.” Psalm 78:4

We thank God for everyone who made these new spaces possible. May they be used to educate, equip, and encourage today’s students as they prepare to share Christ with generations still to come.

Please continue to keep Shoreland, our students, and our ministry in your prayers. To learn how you can support Shoreland’s mission, contact President Paul Scriver or Director of Mission Advancement, Daniel Hahm.

Where could Spanish take you?

As we begin a new school year, we’re also looking ahead to Shoreland’s next Spanish trip!

This past summer, Shoreland students traveled to Mexico City, Mérida, and Isla Mujeres. They experienced the World Cup Fan Fest, stayed with host families, explored Templo Mayor, Teotihuacán, Uxmal, and Chichén Itzá, jumped into a cenote, and finished their adventure on the beautiful beaches of Isla Mujeres.

We thank God for this incredible opportunity to practice Spanish, experience Mexican culture, and discover more of His amazing creation!

The World Languages Department offers the Spanish trip every two years to students who have completed Spanish II or higher. Planning for the next trip begins later this year, with more information coming this winter.

From Costa Rica to Spain to Mexico, where will Spanish take Shoreland students next? 👀

A new school year. New spaces. The same foundation. 🖤💛

This week, our students stepped into a transformed Shoreland campus, including our new atrium entrance, eight new classrooms, and a new music room.

Plenty looks different.

But what matters most hasn’t changed.

For generations, Shoreland has existed to prepare students for lives of Christian service, and as we begin the 2026–27 school year, we are reminded exactly where that firm foundation is found:

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

1 Corinthians 3:11

New spaces. New opportunities. A new year.

Built On Christ. ✝️

🖤💛 Welcome back to Shoreland, Mrs. Morman!

Meet Emily Morman, Shoreland’s new School Counselor and a familiar face returning home to Pacer Nation!

Mrs. Morman is a 2009 Shoreland graduate who returns with six years of educational experience. We asked her a few questions to help Pacer Nation get to know her.

🎤 What do you enjoy outside of school?

“Spending time with my family (her husband, Justin, who is also a 2009 Shoreland graduate, and their daughters, Madeline and Claire), watching my girls play sports, and going for walks with my dog (Benny). I love being active and making memories with the people I love.”

☕ Your perfect summer morning?

“Slow and relaxing! Taking my time, enjoying a cup of coffee, and soaking up the peaceful start to the day.”

📸 Any first-day-of-school traditions?

Every year, Mrs. Morman takes a picture of her daughters, Madeline and Claire, holding signs with the grades they’re entering. She loves looking back and seeing just how much they’ve grown.

📖 A favorite Bible passage?

Matthew 5:16: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

✨ And your advice for Shoreland students?

“Always be a light in this world. Be kind, be encouraging, and remember that you never know what someone else may be going through.”

Finally, we asked what she’s most excited about as she returns to Shoreland:

“I was once a Pacer as a student, and now I am so excited to be a Pacer again as a professional.”

Once a Pacer, always a Pacer. 🖤💛

Welcome home, Mrs. Morman!

Welcome to Shoreland, Mr. Malliet! 💛🖤

We’re excited to welcome Gabe Malliet to the Shoreland family as a new member of our Science Department!

Mr. Malliet brings 26 years of teaching experience to Shoreland. He and his wife, Beth, are also no strangers to the Pacer family. Their children Sam ’22, Ella ’25, and Aiden ’28 have all called Shoreland home.

So, what should students know about Mr. Malliet?

For starters, expect some trivia. 🧠 He traditionally kicks off the first day of school with a trivia contest and prizes. That probably shouldn’t be surprising, considering trivia is one of his favorite pastimes, along with watching and coaching sports and playing just about any board or card game.

And here’s one you maybe didn’t see coming.

Before the classroom, Mr. Malliet spent some time behind the turntables as a DJ for weddings and dances. 🎧

What does he enjoy most about teaching?

“My favorite teaching moment is always when a student gets that ‘AHA!’ moment and masters a concept after working hard on it.”

His advice to Shoreland students is pretty simple. Get involved.

“Join an activity or two while you’re at Shoreland. Whether it is a sport, club, or organization, it’s a great way to meet new friends and be part of something special as a Pacer.”

Most importantly, Mr. Malliet is excited about the opportunity to share his faith with his students.

“I’m excited to join the Pacer family because it gives me an opportunity to help share the Good News about Jesus Christ and watch as students grow into Christian leaders, spouses, parents, and servants.”

His favorite Bible verse, Jeremiah 17:7, captures that foundation well:

“Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.”

Welcome to the Pacer family, Mr. Malliet! 💛🖤

BUILT ON CHRIST.

A new school year is almost here.

New students. New classrooms. New opportunities. New challenges. New memories waiting to be made.

But before any of it begins, we remember the foundation beneath everything we do at Shoreland.

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11

Our theme for the 2026–27 school year is Built On Christ.

As another year begins, we pray that our learning, relationships, talents, service, character, and faith remain firmly built on the one foundation that never changes:

Jesus Christ.

Christ as our Compass. Growth as our Pace.
