For the final staff spotlight for the 2025-26 school year, we are filled with both gratitude and bittersweet emotions as we celebrate and highlight the wonderful 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐉𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐧, who will be retiring at the end of this school year. ✨
For over 25 years, Denise has poured her heart into our school district. She currently serves as one of our itinerant Special Education teachers, bringing vital support, patience, and care to our littlest learners through the district including many of our Head Start students.
Denise, thank you for over a quarter-century of dedication to our students, families, and community. We wish you the absolute best in your well-deserved retirement! 🎉

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and at Head Start, mental health isn't an afterthought. It's built into everything we do.
Head Start programs support infant and early childhood mental health through mental health consultation, an evidence-based approach that connects mental health professionals with the people who work with young children every day. That means staff are equipped to help children build emotional skills, manage feelings, and form healthy relationships from the very start.
But it doesn't stop with the kids. Head Start and Early Head Start are among the most valuable federal programs for strengthening the protective factors that reduce risks and providing mental health support to both parents and their children.
Because when a parent is supported, their child is too. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we're proud to be part of a system that sees the whole family, not just the child in the classroom.
