📣 Leadership Opportunity for 11th Graders!

Want to have a voice in the future of Kennewick schools?

The Kennewick School District Board of Directors is looking for a current 11th grader to serve as Student Representative-Elect for the 2026-27 school year and step into the Student Representative role in 2027-28.

We’re looking for a student who:
• Is a current KSD 11th grader
• Meets academic and behavior standards
• Is comfortable speaking up and representing fellow students
• Can attend school board meetings

Apply by September 18, 2026. Submit your application materials to Mr. Chelin, Kamiakin High School principal.

We’re excited to see some new art bringing even more color, creativity, and Kamiakin spirit to our school! These pieces are a great reminder that our campus is more than just a building—it’s a place shaped by the people, traditions, and pride of our community.

We are grateful for Mrs. Kennedy and her leadership in developing the common vision for these projects. Additionally, a huge thank you to Fast Signs for being such a great community partner and helping bring this vision to life. We’re especially proud that a Kamiakin graduate was part of the installation! There’s something special about seeing our own alumni come back and leave their mark on the place that helped shape them.

There’s nothing quite like Senior Spirit at Kamiakin~ one of our favorite traditions is watching our Seniors proudly show what it means to be a Brave! From the creative outfits to the school spirit, these moments are a great reminder of the pride our Seniors have in their school and in each other.

Seniors, this is your year. Don't wish away the time. Take every opportunity to have common experiences and build relationships. Make memories. Celebrate the traditions that make Kamiakin special—and enjoy every moment of your final year as a Brave. The years go by quickly, but the people, memories, friendships, and moments you make at Kamiakin will stay with you for a lifetime.

Students: Check Your Schedule!
As we get ready for the first day of school (TODAY!), please take a moment to check your schedule in PowerSchool. Over the past few days, we have welcomed many new students to Kamiakin, which has required us to balance—and sometimes rebalance—our overall master schedule to make sure classes are appropriately staffed and balanced. You may have to reorganize your "Trapper Keeper" (if you don't know what that it is.. ask your parents)... or reshuffle your "PeeChee" order~ your classes stayed the same~ may just be in a different order.
IMPORTANT: The schedule you see in PowerSchool will be your schedule for the first day of school on Tuesday (AND reminder that Tuesday is first day of school for ALL of our students).

The Class of 2030 showed up today! We had @500 students at our Freshmen Only Day today...and look forward to seeing ALL of our students tomorrow for the first day of school! Special thanks to Mrs. Cox, Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Melick for motivating and inspiring students to high levels of enthusiasm! Welcome Class of 2030! ​Today is Kamiakin's version of "freshmen only day" where we welcome all ​of our freshmen onto campus, help them learn what it means to be a Brave, get them some more Kamiakin Swag and have some fun! Reminder that tomorrow (Tuesday) is the first day of school for ALL Kamiakin students.
