Hello! My name is Hadley Wilcox and I am from Washington. Initially paralyzed with fear over public speaking, I was forced to join my local speech and debate club in eighth grade. After my first year, I fell in love with speech and debate. I competed in the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association for five years, serving on the Student Advisory Council my senior year. I have made it to the regional championship in both Lincoln Douglas, and Team Policy. I have also competed in Moot Court for three years. During my time in NCFCA, I have earned many top-five awards in a variety of events, attending Nationals in 2021 and 2023. Outside of NCFCA, I have competed in the American Legion scholarship contest and two Mock Trial invitationals with Invictus Advocacy Academy. Currently, I am furthering my speech and debate career at Carroll College! I compete in British Parliamentary and various speaking styles on the Talking Saints team, placing first in prose at our Regional Championship in November. I am also working with the communications department director as a tutor. I have experience as a private tutor in high school, and I absolutely love working as a tutor for the communications department at Carroll. My goal as a tutor is to help boost confidence when it comes to speaking style and provide quality writing techniques. In both club and one-on-one settings, I will always work to meet the needs of the student and provide the best insight I can, especially from the advanced, collegiate realm of understanding debate, rhetoric, and logic.
