🌟📚 Good Morning, Cascade Families! 📚🌟

We are so excited to welcome our students back for an amazing new school year! We can’t wait to see all of their smiling faces. 😊

Here are a few reminders for this morning:
⏰ School begins at 8:40 a.m.
📍 Students should line up in their assigned spots before school begins.
👨‍👩‍👧 Parents of students in grades 1–3 are welcome to line up with their children outside.
🍎 Students in grades 4–5 will enter the building and sit with their classes in the cafeteria. Due to limited space, parents will be asked to say goodbye at the door.
🏷️ First graders: Please remember to wear your nametags!

We are looking forward to an incredible year filled with learning, growth, friendship, and fun!

📚✨ Our teachers had an amazing day of learning yesterday! They practiced using the new ECRI Sound-Spelling Cards, which will help students identify letter sounds and spellings, recognize root words, and explore the world of morphemes.

We are so excited to welcome our 1st–5th grade Cascade Cougars back to school on Tuesday! 🐾💙 Let’s make it a fantastic year of learning!

We’re excited to kick off the new school year and invite you to our annual Back-to-School Bash! 🎊

Join us for an open-house evening to get ready for a fantastic year ahead. Feel free to drop in anytime during the event to explore the school, meet teachers, and get settled. 🏫✨

🚪 Format: Open house—come and go as your schedule allows
🌟 What to Expect
👩‍🏫 Meet the Teacher: Say hello to your child’s new teacher and tour the classroom.
🤝 See Old Friends and Make New Ones: Connect with classmates and fellow families before the first day.
🎒 Drop Off School Supplies: Bring supplies early so backpacks are lighter on the first day.
There will be no formal schedule or presentation, so please stop by anytime between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. 😊

We are excited to announce that Brooke Schuldheisz has been selected as the new principal of Cascade Elementary School!

Mrs. Schuldheisz comes to Cascade with more than 30 years of experience in public education. Since 2023, she has served as principal of McClintock STEM Elementary in the Pasco School District. She previously spent eight years as principal of Emerson Elementary School and began her career in 1995 as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher. She has also served as a math specialist.

“Mrs. Schuldheisz is passionate about building strong relationships with students, families and staff while creating a school where every child feels known, supported and valued,” said Jared Lind, director of elementary education. “She is committed to helping every student thrive academically, socially and emotionally.”

Mrs. Schuldheisz earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from California Lutheran University and her master's degree in professional development from Heritage University.

Welcome to Kennewick School District, Mrs. Schuldheisz! We look forward to the experience, leadership and enthusiasm you will bring to the Cascade Elementary community.
