2026-27 Leadership Announcement 📣
Desiree Martinez, current principal at Highlands Middle School, will re-join the Kennewick High School leadership team as assistant principal beginning next school year.
A Kennewick native and Kennewick High School graduate, Ms. Martinez has dedicated nearly 26 years to education in the Tri-Cities. She began her career as a business and marketing education teacher at Kennewick High, then served as CTE coordinator at Tri-Tech Skills Center. She returned to Kennewick High in 2015 as an assistant principal before becoming principal at Highlands Middle School in 2023.
“Desiree is deeply committed to serving students, staff and families in Kennewick. She will be a strong addition to the Kennewick High leadership team,” said Principal Ron King.
Ms. Martinez holds a master’s degree in educational technology from Boise State University, a bachelor’s degree in business education from Central Washington University, a principal certification from Heritage University and a CTE director certification from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher.

Our very own KHS Drama Club (Brown Box Players) have been hard at work on their spring production: Shrek The Musical JR.
Laugh along as Shrek the ogre and his wisecracking Donkey pal try to rescue a princess, while learning about friendship and self-acceptance along the way.
Performances are Monday, March 9th, Thursday, March 12th and Friday, March 13th at 7:00 pm in our Art Fuller Auditorium!
