Happy first day of school, Tiger Families!

What an excellent first day of school! Our Tigers showed up ready to learn, grow, and ROAR! We are so proud of our scholars and grateful for our amazing team and families for helping make the first day such a success.

We are excited to make this an audacious year. One where we dream big, believe in what is possible for every student, and work together to make those dreams a reality!

Reminder: Tomorrow is Wednesday, which means it is an EARLY RELEASE day! Students will be dismissed at 2:00 PM.

The 2026–2027 school supply lists are attached by grade level to help your family get ready for the new school year!

You may drop off your child's school supplies at the front office August 25–27 from 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., or simply have your child bring them on the first day of school.

Class lists will be posted on the front doors on Friday, August 21.

We can't wait to welcome our Tigers back! Grades 1–5 begin school on Tuesday, September 1, and our TK/Kindergarten students will begin on Thursday, September 3, or Friday, September 4, depending on their scheduled start date. (TK and Kindergarten families will be contacted by the school to advise which day to come.)

Free summer meals available for Kennewick students! 🍎🍽️☀️

The Kennewick School District Summer Meal Program provides free meals for all children ages 18 and younger throughout the summer. No registration is required.

Meal sites include:
• Amistad Elementary
• Southgate Elementary
• Highlands Middle School
• Kennewick High School
• Kamiakin High School
• Southridge High School
• Tri-Tech Skills Center

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming back some very special visitors to Washington Elementary! Our graduating seniors returned to walk the halls where their educational journey began, and it was an inspiring moment for all.

Seeing these young adults come back to their former elementary school was a wonderful reminder of how much they have grown and accomplished over the years. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and grateful that they took the time to share this milestone with our school community.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! We wish you all the best as you begin your next chapter. Whether you're heading to college, the workforce, the military, or pursuing other dreams, know that you will always have a place here at Washington Elementary.
