For those who are unable to join us tomorrow, the Elly Cleveland Memorial Dedication will be live-streamed on the Upland Country Day School page and the recording will be uploaded to YouTube following the conclusion.

It is with an incredibly heavy heart that we share the sad news of Thann Gomba's passing. Director of Advancement Emily Neilson Swarter '04 recently wrote, "Ms. Gomba was like the sun to her students and spending time in her classroom felt like standing in the light from September to June. When we walked through those doors we felt warm, joyful, happy, and whole. Without a doubt, today is a sad day for Ms. Gomba's Second Graders across distance and time."

At the 2020 Founders' Day celebration, Upland recognized Ms. Gomba's incredible 42 years of service and devotion to Upland which began in 1977. Ms. Gomba's legacy will live on at Upland as her second grade classroom was dedicated and named in her honor following her retirement. She was a gifted and inspiring teacher who was respected and loved by her students and colleagues.
