“Singin' in the Rain, JR.” takes the stage on Friday, June 26, at 5:00 p.m. in the Kristi Lynn Theatre, presented by the Murray Arts Academy and featuring talented performers from rising grades 5 through 12.

Set in 1920s Tinseltown during the exciting shift from silent films to “talkies,” this family-friendly musical follows movie star Don Lockwood, his hilarious sidekick Cosmo Brown, and aspiring actress Kathy Selden as they try to save a troubled film — with plenty of tap-dancing, comedy, and heart along the way. Featuring beloved songs like “Good Mornin’,” “Make ’Em Laugh,” and the iconic “Singin’ in the Rain,” this upbeat show showcases our talented student cast and is perfect for audiences of all ages.

Mark your calendars, invite friends and family, and get ready for “that glorious feeling” of supporting our students on stage! Tickets can be purchased online starting June 15 for $10. On June 26, tickets can be purchased with cash at the door for $15.

As we do some summer reflection on this milestone year, we want to recognize the incredible dedication of our Yearbook staff who spent countless hours capturing memories, telling stories, and preserving the legacy of Mount Paran Christian School.

Creating a yearbook is no small task, but this edition carried an even greater responsibility. In celebration of MPCS's 50th Anniversary, our students thoughtfully crafted a book that not only documented this school year, but also honored five decades of God's faithfulness, growth, and community.

From researching school history and gathering archival photos to designing layouts, writing stories, and meeting deadlines, our Yearbook team poured their creativity, leadership, and hard work into every page. The result is a beautiful keepsake that reflects the people, moments, and mission that have shaped MPCS for generations.

Thank you to our student staff, advisors, photographers, writers, and designers for helping tell the story of 50 Years of Moving Mountains. Your work will be treasured for years to come.

A little look back at the magic behind “Hello, Dolly!” 🎭✨

One of the special parts of this production was the live pit orchestra led by our Director of Arts, Eric Willoughby. The pit featured student flutist A. deVaux alongside Arts faculty members Billy Flood and Tesia Moss, as well as Murray Arts Academy instructors Emily Hindes and Tisa Schuurman — a beautiful collaboration of student talent, faculty artistry, and community musicianship. These talented individuals helped bring every scene to life and created an unforgettable experience for both our performers and audiences.

We’re so thankful for the dedication, talent, and countless hours that went into making this production such a memorable one!

Seniors, we are so proud of you! As you walk across the stage tomorrow, we pray that His peace washes over you in this new chapter. We pray that you walk boldly into whatever plan He has set before you and continue using your gifts to create, inspire, lead, and glorify Him wherever life takes you.

Musician and Chapel Band Teacher, Mark Lee, recently went back on tour with the legendary Christian band, Third Day. He and fellow band members wrapped up their 30th anniversary tour in Atlanta. In fanatic MPCS style, Mr. Lee sported an Eagles football jersey as he signed off the evening's encore. We are grateful for how Mr. Lee pours his vast musical knowledge into our students and appreciate his willingness to share his talents with our school community in so many ways.

“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” — Matthew 4:19

In celebration of Mount Paran Christian School’s 50th anniversary, our student artists helped bring “Fishers of Men” to life through this beautiful collaborative sculpture installation. From flattening clay and cutting each fish by hand to creating unique designs and glazing every piece, students poured creativity, care, and hard work into every detail.

Under the guidance of teachers Amy Moore, Terri White, and Kelly Tarver, each individual creation was thoughtfully assembled into one breathtaking masterpiece — a colorful reminder of faith, community, and the impact we can make together!
