Angie Andrews Pastoral Trauma Therapy, IFS

Angie Andrews Pastoral Trauma Therapy, IFS Spiritually helping humans heal their souls. Managing emotional pain requires energy, but getting understanding behind it can set you free.

Parts within us need to share their pain from the past without judgment, spiritualizing it away or demanding for change. Once a part of you believes that you are concerned for it's well-being, it naturally stops over-reacting and managing your behavior for control. A new relationship with SELF and that part allows it to lay down it's responsibility of protecting you from further pain so that decisions are made through grace and peace within your internal system.

The parts that lie for us to survive always get judged by the parts of us who think it is a moral issue. When we realize that all parts within our internal family (nervous system) began to protect us when our brains were developing, we won’t need to judge ourselves for the choices we made. Our habits, hang-ups, mistakes and sin are the only choice we may have had as kids so the parts that act out in these ways, like lying, just need to be heard by us that we understand what they experienced through our life. This internal conversation allows both the righteous judging parts to relent on their condemnation as a method or persuasion to behave better and the “liar” can do something totally different that is freeing. This great exchange only comes on a subconscious level where calm replaces the action, in this case, lying. The judging part then has no need to keep judging and can also lay down its burden of having to manage the conflict. healing

There is no moral judgement attached to your feelings. You are not sinful, bad, a problem or making a mistake whenever you feel a heightened emotion. If it causes another to be triggered or label you for “feeling” that just means that they are uncomfortable with your level of emotion. This is the crux of all disagreement’s because we expect others to respond as we do and yet no two people have perceived life in exactly the same way. Being angry isn’t wrong if you express it from the part of you that has been betrayed or wronged. The calm comes to your angry part when you give compassion for how the circumstance upset that part of you inside. When that happens the need to get angry morphs and the worry about upsetting or triggering someone else will dissipate. The beauty in relationships is to recognize that we all have parts that others may not understand so we need not change ourselves for the sake of connection with them, we heal ourselves for the sake of connecting to ourselves.

Avoidance is a protective measure for parts that fear intimacy will attach them to another who will hurt them like their parents did. These unspoken perceptions of pain can be healed from the inside out when self calm is felt instead of the need to push away and remain solo for preservation. AngieAndrewsEyesight222YouTube

Attachment styles show up through parts who want to protect your internal family nervous system from feeling familiar pain. Part by part we grant acknowledgment for their pursuit or avoidance of intimacy because their perception is distorted, suffering remains stuck in the first time they felt that way. If we are curious to their perception of pain we can dismantle it so they can trust our decisions. Change from triggers to temperament is possible. Angie Andrews Eyesight 222 Youtube

In IFS Therapy we don’t judge ourselves through the ways parts of us attach because we know that their perception of pain is an old wound. Attachment styles are made up of a myriad of parts who helped us survive the disconnection to a parent. Adaptive survival strategies of wounded parts are organized into protective layers of belief to keep the original wound from being re-opened. If you struggle with a particular attachment style and want connection to your Self and others, email me for a free consultation to learn how you can gain safety from the inside out. This is why counseling one on one is a life call for me.

Every new great idea will require stages of development and process. Our relationships to self, parts within, business partners and romantic interests, will face different seasons of success. The storms of entrepreneurial life can be heightened if your business partner is your spouse or family member, so the need for emotional regulation becomes a personal responsibility. Burnout is often met with shame and critical parts of ourselves that we can have a conversation with so that reliance on AI or productivity becomes the backdrop instead of further distracting us from personal dreams. Basic emotions like fear and sadness trigger each-other because they have a long standing relationship in protecting you from painful perception. What a part believes about you and others becomes a trigger that gets labeled as bad from many vantage points. Describing the emotion allows its nuance to be known which gives it credit for showing up in moments of suffering. Once a relationship to self is established, parts within can disengage from the role it plays and allow you to guide choices through calm.
