Every year during the spring equinox, something extraordinary happens at Chichén Itzá.

As the sun begins to set, light and shadow work together to create the illusion of a serpent descending the pyramid—a breathtaking visual that appears to slither down the steps of El Castillo.

This phenomenon is linked to Kukulkán, one of the most important deities in Mayan culture.

But this isn’t coincidence.

The ancient Maya designed this structure with incredible precision—combining astronomy, architecture, and spirituality to align perfectly with the movement of the sun.

Even more impressive?
The pyramid has 365 steps, representing the days of the year.

This moment doesn’t just mark the arrival of spring…
it’s a reminder of the advanced knowledge our ancestors had—long before modern technology.
