McClure Middle School Band

We have had a busy week in the McClure Band room! Between 6th grade Carnival and Kennesaw Mountain Bands 8th grade night, this school year is off to a great start!

It may be the last week of school, but we are keeping busy in the McClure Band!

This week, students from Harrison came over to play holiday tunes with our students. Jazz Band performed at The Battery as guests of the Allatoona Band, and also performed for the kindergarten and second grade classes at Bullard Elementary School.

We are proud of all the hard work our students are putting in as we close out the fall semester!

This week, Dr. Vandewalker (retired director of bands at Harrison HS), Mr. Long (KMHS band director), and Mr. Ray (current Harrison band director), visited our 7th and 8th grade classes and help our students perform their concert music on a higher level. We all had a blast and our students got to be better musicians this week with their help! Thank you so much for helping us get to the next level!

Happy Halloween from the McClure Band! We had a great day continuing our annual tradition of sight reading spooky tunes and learning how music sounds scary! 👻🎃

This weekend three of our students participated in the inaugural Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony Young Artist Honor Band! They prepared an entire concert with just 4 hours of rehearsal and got to work with composer Aaron Perrine! We are so proud of them!

First Jazz Band rehearsal of the 2024-2025 school year! It’s still not too late to join - Jazz Band is open to all 7th and 8th grade Band students!

The rain tried to ruin our fun but we had a blast at our Harrison 8th Grade Night on Friday! We were able to start in the stands and then got to listen to the performance inside! Thank you Harrison Bands for hosting!

Exciting News! McClure's 8th Grade Symphonic Band will perform at the MFA Southeastern Regional Concert Band Festival. It's going to be an amazing school year!
