A. C. Alexander School

Students from Prek-2nd grade had the opportunity to head to the North Kenner Library this school year while LEAP testing was being conducted. They were able to learn about ladybugs 🐞 and make a ladybug art project. We have partnered up with the North Kenner Library to have more visits this coming school year. 📚📖

We love to see our teachers participating in summer professional developments. Last week, Mr. Moore was able to participate in a week long training at the World War II Museum with other Louisiana teachers to prepare for History Day this upcoming school year! He was lucky enough to meet descendants of the Plessy and Furgeson families and Leona Tate.

Our very own, Mr. Sammy, was out there serving the community this morning. Alexander loves it’s community!

In lue of the New York Knicks winning the NBA Championship game, we thought we go back to memory lane to our first dance of the school year! NEW YORK: A night in the City at AC Alexander. How fitting?! 🗽🏀 Wonder what theme our students will come up with this coming year for their dance? 🤔

Mariam Avila is a 5th grade student at A. C. Alexander School who enjoys being at school with her friends and teachers because of the kindness and support she receives each day. Her favorite subject is math because she enjoys solving problems, working with numbers, and helping classmates who may struggle with certain concepts.

Outside of the classroom, Mariam enjoys playing soccer and staying active. She knows doing well in school is important because it can lead to a great future. Mariam describes herself as smart, athletic, and helpful, and she hopes to become an astronaut one day.
