Chromebook Protection Plan - Teenagers break things. We recommend it.

Kennedale ISD offers an optional device protection plan for students in grades 6-12 using district-issued Chromebooks. This plan covers accidental damage for the enrolled school year and is available for a fee of $25. Enrollment in the plan is only available at the beginning of the school year.

Coverage
Accidental Damage: Covers accidental damage to Chromebooks for the enrolled school year.

Exclusions
Intentional Damage: Not covered.
Lost or Stolen Devices: Not covered. A replacement will cost $300.
Charging Cords: Not covered. These are always $20.
Existing Fines: Does not remove any pre-existing fines.
Loss of Privileges: Does not circumvent decisions such as loss of Chromebook privileges as determined by KISD teachers, administrators, or staff.

Costs Without Coverage
If a student does not have coverage, they and their parents are subject to fines and fees as described in the KISD User Agreement for Technology, including:
Cracked Case or Broken Keyboard: $50
Broken Screen: $70
Full Replacement Due to Damage, Loss, or Theft: $300
Replacement Chargers: $20 (always)

Damages due to normal wear and tear or manufacturing defects are covered by the district.

We recognize and appreciate that Kennedale ISD is rich with talented and dedicated employees. EVERY Kennedale ISD staff member has an important role, responsibility, and stake in the educational success, safety and security of our students. Our employees go above and beyond to make a difference and we are committed to recognizing those staff members for their hard work and dedication.

To highlight these outstanding contributions across our district and on our campuses, Kennedale ISD implemented, the "Paw"sitively Awesome Wildcat (PAW) Award. These individuals are "Paw"sitively Awesome Wildcats, and we want to celebrate all they do for our Kennedale ISD family.

Dear Kennedale ISD Families,

To comply with Texas Senate Bill 12 (SB 12), Kennedale ISD is asking all parents and guardians to complete the annual Health Services Consent Form for each student as soon as possible.

This form provides annual consent for your child to receive routine school-based health services from qualified school staff, such as nurses, athletic trainers, counselors, and other health professionals. Examples of these services include:

First aid and injury evaluation
Care for illness or physical symptoms during the school day
Monitoring of chronic health conditions (with additional consent when required)
Vision, hearing, and scoliosis screenings

The form also explains services that require separate parental authorization and outlines your rights under SB 12. If you choose not to allow your child to receive routine health services, you may decline consent on the form. You may also update your decision at any time during the school year.

KHS will expand the TIA Program and BOY, MOY, & EOY Testing in 2026-27.

Wildcats,

In 2026-27, the Kennedale Independent School District will move into Phase 2 of the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) Program, whereas teachers of TIA-eligible courses can earn outcome bonuses based up on a combination of criteria including student growth on course-related STAAR EOC exams, student growth on course-related assessments developed by TEA-approved third-party vendors, and performance on T-TESS summative appraisals. KISD selected NWEA MAP Growth, TEA TEKSready (by ESC 10), and youscience as the third-party testing platforms to measure student growth for Kenendale High School in 2026-27.

Last year, Kennedale High School launched the TIA program for teachers of only three eligible courses. In 2026-27, teachers of 26 eliglble courses have an opportunity to earn TIA bonuses, which impact a teacher's compensation for up to 5 years.

The expansion of the TIA program has resulted in an expansion of Kennedale High School's beginning, middle, and end of the year (BOY, MOY, and EOY) assessment program. You can view the KHS 2026-27 MAP & TIA-Eligible Course Testing General Schedule here:

The expansion of TIA is great news for everyone. Teachers can earn more money. We have more assessments across more subjects to track student growth and progress. And, students and parents will have access to assessment results.
