💭 Memory Monday is taking us back outside for lunch in the sunshine! ☀️🌭

The forecast called for fresh air, full bellies and plenty of smiles! Lunch was served with a side of sunshine during Kendall Elementary’s first-ever Outside Cafeteria Day! Students enjoyed grilled hot dogs, chips, watermelon, fresh vegetables and juice while eating outside with their classmates during their regular lunch periods.

💭 This Memory Monday, we’re turning the page back to a book-filled adventure in Medina! 📚

Fourth-grade Battle of the Books participants took their love of reading on the road with a trip to Medina!

Students visited Author’s Note, met author and bookstore owner Julie Berry, and selected new books for the school library. They also toured the newly remodeled Lee-Whedon Memorial Library before ending the day with ice cream.

Books, a bookstore and ice cream? A pretty great field trip lineup!

It’s Future Ready Friday! 💻

Students entering grades 7 and 10 will receive new Chromebooks this year. An Acceptable Use Policy MUST be completed before a device can be issued.

Incoming seventh graders will receive their Chromebooks during Seventh Grade Orientation on Aug. 27.

Incoming 10th graders should bring their current Chromebook and charger to the JSHS Open House on Sept. 3 to complete their exchange.

💭 This Memory Monday, we’re waddling back to our annual Duck Walk—or this year’s creative alternative!

No duck eggs meant no traditional Kindergarten Duck Walk this year—and a chick-only walk would have been a lot like herding, well, their adult counterparts. 🐥😬

So kindergarten families improvised! Students decorated ducks at home, and the colorful creations were displayed outside the classrooms for a one-of-a-kind modified Duck Walk!

Is your student’s physical up to date? Are all required immunizations complete? Have you submitted a Health Appraisal with Medical History form? Does your student need a Medication Request form?

Requirements vary by grade level. Visit www.kendallschools.org/backtoschool to review Health Office requirements and download any necessary forms.
