Have you met my friend Natalia Chaparro? 🌿

Natalia is a designer, community herbalist, and the creator of Canasto Herbal. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, she weaves creativity, ancestral traditions, and a deep reverence for the cultural and ecological relationships that connect us with the land.

We’re delighted to welcome Natalia as a presenter at the BotanicWise Women’s Herbal Gathering this September, where she will offer two beautiful classes:

✨ Medicinal Plants of the Colombian Páramo
Journey into the high Andes to meet the healing plants of Colombia’s extraordinary páramo landscapes and explore their traditional uses, ecological importance, and cultural heritage.

✨ Bitter & Sweet: Colombian Year-End Herbal Baths for Cleansing and Renewal
Discover an ancestral bathing tradition that pairs bitter herbs for cleansing with sweet herbs for joy and abundance. Through storytelling, ritual, and practical guidance, Natalia will share a beautiful plant-centered practice for renewal.

Come learn, gather, and deepen your relationship with plants alongside Natalia and our wonderful community of women this September. 🌿

There are some teachings that stay with you long after the gathering ends. We have a feeling this will be one of them.

We are deeply honored to welcome Kat Maier as our Friday keynote speaker at the 2026 BotanicWise Women’s Herbal Gathering.

In her keynote, Women’s Bodies as Entheogenic, Kat invites us to explore the profound wisdom of women’s bodies as natural gateways to transformation, vision, and the sacred. Together, we’ll reflect on the rhythms of our hormones, our generative nature, and the unique ways they connect us to our own inner divinity.

Join us September 18–20, 2026, at the Kempton Community Center in Kempton, Pennsylvania, for a weekend of herbal wisdom, community, and connection with an extraordinary lineup of teachers.

We’d love to gather with you. Reserve your spot today at https://botanicwise.com/whg. 🌿

🌿 In 1994, at my first herbal gathering, I attended a class on plants for pollinators. The teacher talked about bees, butterflies and hummingbirds and showed us how to grow the plants they thrive on. I was riveted by the intimate relationship she had with both creatures and plants.
Years later, that teacher is one of my dearest friends, herbalist Deb Soule. 💚 We’ve traded plants, seeds, stories, and countless cups of tea. 🌸 She introduced me to Lady’s Mantle and Greek Mullein. I introduced her to dahlias and crocosmia. Plants brought us together—and friendship blossomed.
This year I’m growing Black Cohosh for the first time. 🌱 In the wild, it grows in woodland communities alongside trilliums, bloodroot, and ferns. It reminds me that we thrive in community.
🌼 Has a plant ever led you to a meaningful friendship or deepened your connection with someone? I’d love to hear your story.
🌿 Here’s to growing together.
