Haul out complete!! Last week I decided to haul out Antares. After 8 years the bottom still looked very decent. My advice is to do a quality bottom job saving lots of money in the long run. Last time I used Trinidad hard paint. Of course this time around I did use the same paint. Antares is ready and fast to go sailing! This time a year with cooler temperatures is the best time to get on the water.

I just completed delivery of this 1988 31 foot island packet. Upon boarding this vessel I thought I was mistaken. Is this really 31 foot? She feels and looks much larger. Winds were from the SE making a nice beam reach sail to Kemah. At times winds were light and I did do some motor sailing. However winds did pick up to the 15 to 20 knot range at times. Yes I was very impressed with the comfort of this Island Packet! Especially going down below there was not a creaking or cracking noise to be heard. I have owned and sailed many boats and most do make some creaking flexing etc. noises. I realize this boat is designed to sail to faraway destinations. I would not hesitate to sail this boat anywhere in the world. If you are considering purchasing a boat I would recommend taking a serious look. Even though she is from 1988 you will find she shows and feels like a much more recent vintage. She is listed with Stephen Seger at Little Yacht Sales in Kemah.
