The 2023 cohort learned a ton on the Teton Crest Trail! We were fortunate to see moose, black bears, pikas, marmots, porcupines, peregrine falcons, and lots of other creatures along the way.

Here are a few teaching positions in the SLC area. Take a look:
(1) The first is a high school position at Rowland Hall. It can be found on their Job Openings webpage. It is an awesome place to work. https://www.rowlandhall.org/about/employment
(2) The second is a halftime elementary science position at Parkview Elementary in the Salt Lake City School District. They need someone ASAP and they have an awesome administrative team. This would be an excellent foot in the door position for a school district that pays well and rarely has openings because of its popularity. Also, it would be a great fit for someone who wants to gain ESL experience.
(3) The final opening is less urgent as it is for this coming March with the Engelmann Mountain School. This would be ideal for someone who wants to combine a love of nature/experiential education with academic rigor. It involves working with preK-2nd grade students.

This beautiful pasqueflower is an early bloomer in Wyoming - look closely and you’ll see hairs that help insulate the stem and flower! Pasqueflowers open and close depending on sunlight and weather so they can survive early-season snowstorms and cold snaps. This flower was observed near Sheridan, WY by graduate alumni Sarah Hackworth.

Bioblitz anywhere! Try turning over a rock or piece of wood, look in a closet or the corners of your home. iNaturalists users have submitted nearly 25,000 observations of 4,100 species found inside homes to North Carolina State University’s “Never Home Alone” community science project. We found this shield bug under a piece of firewood, and got a bonus beetle!
