This is a community event - bounce houses, petting zoo, ax throwing face painting, Trunk or Treat, DJ, Food Trucks, and don't forget the children's costume and dog costume contest.

HUGE shout out to Mr. Daggett and Mr. McLaughlin for coming out and helping me (Tracy) and Julia tackle this. We also need to recognize Lowes for donating the wood and paint and the Matteson family for getting it all cut out. We cannot thank y’all enough. All the balloons and pizazz will be added tomorrow. If you signed up to walk/ride you may want to bring a towel or blanket to sit on along with candy to throw. We have some mouse ears for the kids to wear and if they wanted to dress like (vintage) Mickey Mouse Club members, we’d love that!

Ok parents, we have our shape cut, but need to figure out how to make it stand up (securely) in a moving trailer. It is top heavy. We were thinking of braces down each side, but maybe someone knows a better way? Big, HUGE, thank you to the Matteson family for cutting this for us! Also, the wood and paint was donated by Lowe’s and the Gorrell Family has donated the balloons and fringe to decorate with. Anyone have 2x4’s available or other ways to secure this? Anyone willing to work on this? I can paint, but power tools aren’t my thing.

One of our bigger expenses is the spirit shirt for every student and staff member. It’s almost back to school time…we hope you are enjoying your last bit of summertime fun! When you are out and about shopping for all of your back to school needs, keep us in mind. We will have a bin out (at meet the teacher, on the first day of school, and at curriculum nights) to collect any new/unused school supplies you might not want.

Texas PTA is proud to announce that Willis Lane Elementary 5730 has earned the Voice for Every Child Platinum Membership Award by recruiting 532 members to be a voice for all 522 students enrolled at your school. This is THE most prestigious Membership Award offered to Local PTAs and you are one of only 62 PTAs across the state that has earned the honor! I am beyond proud of how hard your PTA has worked to achieve this award.
