Ridge Tennis District Play 🎾

District play got underway on 8/18 as Ridge Tennis took on Eagle Mountain High School. It wasn’t the result we were looking for, falling in a close 8–11 match.

The team battled hard from start to finish, and while we still have some things to work on, we’ll learn from this one and keep pushing forward.

Scarlett battled back after falling behind in her singles match and fought her way to an impressive comeback victory!

🎾 Boys Player of the Match: Evan Dietz
Evan fought back to tie his match and then sealed the win in a thrilling tiebreaker!

Way to battle, Scarlett and Evan! 💪🔥

We’re now 4–3 overall and 0–1 in district play. There’s plenty of tennis left to play—let’s keep working and come back stronger next week!

A little behind on our updates, so here’s a quick catch-up!

On 8/6, we faced Denton Geyer. We battled hard but came up short, 1-18. We followed that up with a much closer match against L.D. Bell, falling 7-12. Those matches brought us to 2-2 on the season.

Then on 8/7, we got up early and made the trip to Sweetwater to take on Levelland. Despite playing without our No. 1 and No. 4 players, the team stepped up in a big way and brought home an 11-8 victory!

That puts us at 3-2 on the year.

Now we get two well-earned days off before returning to practice on Monday. We have one more preseason match next Thursday before we kick off the regular season.

I’m incredibly proud of the way this team competes and the way they handle both wins and losses. Their attitude, effort, and resilience continue to impress me. I couldn’t ask for a better group to coach.

🏆 Match #2 is in the books, and Fossil Ridge Tennis is now 2-0! 🎾🖤💛

The Panthers earned a 13-6 victory over Central, putting another notch in the win column!

Next up, we’ll take on Denton Guyer tomorrow morning before facing LD Bell in the afternoon.

What a great way to kick off the season!

Ridge Tennis opened the year with an 11-8 victory over Iowa Park to earn our first win of the season. Iowa Park competed hard from start to finish, and I was impressed with the resilience and determination our team showed to battle through and come out on top.

Here are the Players of the Week:

For the girls, Iliana Alfaro not only won her doubles match but also ran away with a strong singles victory.

For the boys, Gabriel Infante won both his singles and doubles matches and also secured our 10th win to lock in the team victory.

We’re excited to build on this momentum as we take on Central, Guyer, LD Bell, and Levelland next week.

Proud of this team and the way they started the season. Here’s to a great year ahead! 🎾💛🖤

Thursday marked our final day of Summer Athletic Conditioning (SAC) for tennis, and we averaged 30 players throughout the week! The dedication, effort, and commitment our players have shown all summer will truly pay off when team tennis begins.

Starting next Monday, we’ll begin mandatory workouts as we finalize our lineup for the season. I couldn’t be more proud of the hard work this team has put in and the growth I’ve seen from every player over the summer.

We’re excited for the season to get underway and can’t wait to see how much we’ve improved. Go team! 🎾💪
