American Defensive Arts Academy has been providing practical self defense and martial arts training for adults and children in the Keller area since 2002. Students will learn powerful striking techniques from Tae Kwon Do and Karate Do as well as how to use an aggressor’s force against them with joint locks, take downs, and pins from Jujitsu, Aikido, and Hapkido. Our goal is to thoroughly train students in realistic self-defense -- not only tournament competition -- by exposing each student to effective and applicable techniques for realistic self-defense situations.

Did you know falls are the #1 cause of injury for adults over 40? And for kids under 19, falls are the leading cause of non-fatal injuries according to the CDC. At every age, knowing how to move safely makes a real difference.

On May 16, we're bringing one of our most popular martial arts fundamentals to The Keller Pointe as part of Fit City, and it's free and open to all ages.

In this 45-minute session you'll learn:

-How to improve your balance and stability through simple progressions
-How to move with more control and confidence on your feet
-What to do if you do fall- the safe way to go down and get back up

This is the same body awareness we teach in our American Karate and Aikido programs, broken down for everyday life.
