Federal Government is OPEN and Fed TA funding/ArmyIgnitED available. HOWEVER, during the government shutdown which lasted from 1 October - 12 November, no Fed TA funding was allowed for any courses that STARTED between those dates. Now that the government is funded again, it only applies to courses in the future and not any that started during the shutdown. If you are planning on taking any courses in January 2026, the Fed TA request window is open. It opens 60 days before the term start date and you MUST request Fed TA no least 8 days before the term start date. Plan ahead and always request your Fed TA funding early!!

Who is responsible for keeping this document accurate? The service member is, first and foremost. The Soldier is responsible for reviewing their JST annually, and especially before applying to colleges or universities. This isn’t a ‘set it and forget it’ document. It requires ongoing maintenance. They should also review it after completing any significant training.
