Monochrome Monday was a success! 🌈

It is our last FULL week of school, we are so excited to celebrate with another exciting SPIRIT WEEK!!

We kick off the week with MONOCHROME MONDAY! Pick a color and rock it head to toe tomorrow! If you choose to participate send us your photos and have fun with it!💚

Our 3rd graders have been busy learning all about the history of Keene! They wrapped up their curriculum with two exciting field trips that brought local history to life.

Last Friday, all of Keene’s elementary schools gathered at the Rec Center for Keene Comes Alive! Students joined together for songs and had the opportunity to hear from historical figures brought to life, including Barry Faulkner, Jenny Powers, and Clarence DeMar. They were quizzed on their knowledge of Keene’s history and proved they definitely know their stuff! The day ended with games and activities out on the fields.

This Friday, students continued their journey through Keene’s past with visits to Wyman Tavern, Historical Society of Cheshire County, and Bruder House. It was a wonderful opportunity to see history firsthand and make connections between what they learned in the classroom and the places that helped shape our community.

What an amazing way to celebrate their hard work and learning about Keene’s rich history! 💚

Our 2nd graders celebrated the end of their Rocks curriculum with their annual Rock Swap! Students had the chance to walk around, trade rocks with their classmates, and showcase their favorites! It is such a fun tradition and a wonderful opportunity to see all the knowledge they’ve gained throughout their study of rocks.

A special guest also joined the fun, Potato, Mrs. Miller’s amazing new service dog! Potato had a great time hanging out with students and checking out all the excitement. 🪨🐾✨

Last night our kindergartners celebrated the school year at our annual Kindergarten Picnic! Families gathered at the Rainbow Playground with blankets and picnic dinners to celebrate all the amazing things these students accomplished throughout the year. It was a wonderful evening of fun and laughter! Of course, no celebration would be complete without cake! 🍰💚

FYI There will be NO June meeting! We can’t wait to see families on Friday, June 12th for Symonds Circus!!

The Keene Public Library Summer Reading Challenge starts Monday, June 1st! If you remember Symonds won the “Star Summer Readers” award last summer for the school with the greatest participation! We got to keep the trophy in our library all school year! Let’s defend the title this summer and READ, READ, READ!📚

The Symonds Circus is coming! Join us Friday, June 12th from 12:30-2:15pm for an afternoon of games, school spirit and fun! More information coming home in a flyer!
