We are so proud to announce that the KHS Music Department brought home some incredible recognition at Music In The Parks at Busch Gardens, VA!

🎵 KHS String Orchestra: 2nd Place, Division AA
🎵 KHS Choir: 1st Place, Division AA + Best Overall Choir
🎵 KHS Concert Band: 1st Place, Division AA + Best Overall Concert Band
🎵 KHS Music Department: Esprit de Corps Award — presented to the competing school that best exemplifies spirit, support, behavior, musicality, and presentation
🎵 Ezekiel Ariz: Outstanding Student Pianist Award

These students worked hard, represented our school with excellence, and made our community proud! Thank you to Mr. Conti, Ms. Paul and Ms. Hall for their dedication to our musicians!

Wednesday, May 20th was our Spring Band Concert! The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade ensembles all performed their final selections of the 2025-6 school year. It was a wonderful evening of music and a great way to celebrate a year full of learning!

This particular concert also marked the return of a longstanding (pre-COVID) tradition started by retired KMS Band Director Jim DePalo. After dismissing 6th and 7th grade students and their audience members, 8th grade friends and family were invited to stand on stage behind their musician, in honor of their very last band performance as a Keene Middle School student

Good morning! Next week kicks off Keene Middle School's Spring Concert Season! All events begin at 6:30pm in the auditorium. We look forward to seeing you there!

On Saturday May 9th Phillip Godby attended and performed the NHMEA Southeast Middle School Festival. He was nominated by his Strings teacher at KMS and accepted by NHMEA. This is also the second time this year he has performed a jazz solo during a state wide Strings festival! Thank you for your commitment to the viola, Phillip!

Wonderful job to all the students in Band and Choir who represented KMS well at today’s Southwest District Music Festival!

The Keene State College Concert Band has a performance this Thursday at 7pm! Please consider attending!

The Keene High School Concert Band will be performing with KSC on a portion of the program, and it is sure to be a stunning evening of music.

(Band families, please read today's email from Mrs. Hahs about acquiring a student comp ticket for this concert!)

Next up: the New Hampshire Music Educators' Association Middle School District Music Festivals on May 9th! KMS will be hosting the Southwest Festival. Today, some of our school's Festival Band participants got together after school to work through their parts!
